Scott L. Carroll, 49 of Roanoke, passed away Sunday January 13, 2013 at 5:00 am at his home. He was a 1982 graduate of Huntington North High School. Scott was the owner of Carroll’s Furniture now Carroll’s Floor Covering in Roanoke, and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Bippus, Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department, Sons of the Legion Post #160 and NRA. He was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, golfer, and Cubs fan and a stock owner of the Packers.
Scott was born January 6, 1964 in Huntington, the son of Dale and Norma (Michel) Carroll. His mother survives in Roanoke. On May 12, 1984 he married his beloved wife of 28 years Barbara Alles at St. Catherine Catholic Church. She survives in Roanoke. Also surviving are 2 sons Ryan Carroll and Tyler Carroll both of Roanoke, a sister Kim (Brian) Bruemleve of Roanoke, a brother Shane Carroll of Roanoke, grandmother Alice Louise Michel Wohlford of Bippus, father-in-law Dale Alles of Roanoke, 5 sisters-in-law Janet (Mike) Sheets, Carol (Kevin) Stopher and Lisa (Kevin) Sauter all of Fort Wayne, Diane (Jerry) Echert of Huntington and Mary (Terry) Smith of Roanoke, 3 brothers-in-law Denny Alles and Pat (Denise) Alles both of Roanoke, and Joe Alles of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Cathy Hattendorf, mother-in-law Naomi Alles grandparents Loren & Irma Carroll and grandfather Howard Michel.
Visitation will be held Tuesday January 15 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday January 16 preceding the 10:30 am funeral service at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes with Pastor Barry Faucett officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
