Mildred E. Hofmann, 86 of Huntington, passed away Sunday February 21, 2010 at 2:55 pm at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. She was a 1941 graduate of Huntington High School, was a homemaker, a member of the Evangelical United Methodist where she was a member of the Lydia Circle and served as a custodian with her husband for several years, was past president of United Methodist Women and past president of Church Women United.

Mildred was born August 21, 1923 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of J.M. and Vera (Brinningstall) Richardson. On November 15, 1941 she married Robert C. Hofmann in Huntington and he passed away March 1, 2000. She is survived by 2 sons Ronald (Anne) Hofmann of St. George, Utah and Kevin (Barbara) Hofmann of Huntington, sister Martha Hummer of Huntington, brother Glenn Richardson of North Carolina, 4 grandchildren Michelle Hofmann, Julie Hofmann, Lisa Hofmann, and Christian Hofmann. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters Donna Swihart, Alma Steele, and Lela Stamper, and 2 brothers Melvin Richardson and Bernard Richardson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday February 23, from 5-8 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday February 24 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory.
