Dena Dee Cooper, age 95, of Roanoke, was welcomed into the Kingdom of God on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Covington Commons, Fort Wayne. She was a member of Christ’s United Methodist Church, Roanoke and Sonrise United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. She was the office manager for her husband Dr. B. Trent Cooper for 38 years. Dee was a member of the United Methodist Women, American Mothers, and China/Burma/India WWII Auxiliary.
Dee was born August 9, 1922, in Hendricks County, IN, the daughter of Harold and Jesse June (Reeves) Cornwell. On October 23, 1941, she married her beloved husband of 63 years B. Trent Cooper in Hope, IN. He proceeded her in death in 2005. She is survived by 3 sons Philip (Lori) Cooper of Valparaiso, Larry (Becky) Cooper of Roanoke, and Jerald (Alex) Cooper of Fort Wayne, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Dee will be remembered as a generous, hospitable woman who cherished and loved her friends and family well. She was always gracious and above all, Dee was eternally thankful to God for the many blessings of her life.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Sonrise United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, and Saturday, February 10, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at the church. Pastors Scott Pattison and Kaye Patton will officiate. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
