Jeanette I. Nine, 82, of Huntington and formerly of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 10:17 am at her home. She had a cleaning business and worked for First National Bank and Winan’s Insurance. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Roanoke, where she was a member of the Rosery Society, taught CCD, sang in the choir and helped with the Senior Luncheons and Roanoke Festival. In addition to being a devoted grandma she was an accomplished artist, organist and enjoyed growing all types of plants
Jeanette was born June 1, 1936, in Fort Wayne the daughter of Charles and Inez (Pouge) Topp. On February 12, 1955 she married her beloved husband of 60 years Paul E. Nine at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke. He passed away April 1, 2015. She is survived by 3 sons Daniel Nine of Huntington, Rick (Sandy) Nine of North Manchester, Jack (Jamie) Nine of Huntington, 2 daughters Jill (John) Truitt of Fort Wayne and Lisa (Tommy) Harrell of Huntington, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a brother Charles Robert Topp of Huntington, and 3 sisters Marian Machon of Fort Wayne, Judy Fouts of Greeley, CO, and Loretta Hine of Roanoke. In addition to her husband she was preceded by 2 brothers Russell Topp and infant Eugene Topp.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 27 from 2-4 & 5-7 pm at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes and Thursday, February 28 from 8:30-9:30 am preceding the 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dale Bauman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Roanoke.
