Michael J. Putman, age 73, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019, at 4:06 PM at Sage Bluff Health and Rehab, Fort Wayne. He graduated from Southside High School in 1965, served in the US Navy in Vietnam, and worked as a Quality Engineer at Magnavox. He was a member of Northview Church of Christ, Huntington, and an avid photographer and artist.
Michael was born October 18, 1946, in Fort Wayne, a son of Theodore and Florence (Fritze) Putman. On December 15, 1973 he married his beloved wife of 45 years Linda D. Lahr in Roanoke. She survives in Roanoke. Also surviving are daughter Angela (Dale) Cordes of Franklin, Tennessee, son Cory (Brandi) Putman of Roanoke, 10 grandchildren Alexandra (Thomas) Duncan, Jacob Cordes, Gracie Cordes, Caroline Cordes, Caden Eppard, Kaylie Eppard, Baylen Eppard, Bryleigh Stoffel, Colton Putman, Mac Riley Putman and brother Steven (Karen) Putman of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by a sister Judy Harrington.
Visitation will be held Saturday November 16 from 9:30-11 am preceding the 11:00 am memorial service at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. Pastor David Schultz will officiate. Huntington VFW Post #2689 will provide military honors.
