Susan M. Fisher Dieringer, age 77. of Huntington, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:20 am at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. She graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1958. She ran a family daycare for 48 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of Faith Community Church of God where she served as a Sunday School teacher, co-director of Kids Club, church board member, and sang in the choir. She was active in Cub Scouting where she served as a leader for 25 years, was a Tomahawk district committee member, and a district Order of Merit recipient. She also served as a foster parent to 25 children, was a Master Gardener and volunteered at Covered With Love at Love in the Name of Christ, where she received the Dorothy A Scheiber “Heart of a Servant” award in 2017.
Sue was born December 4, 1940, in Huntington, the daughter of Edward and Juanita (Ebersole) Fisher. On October 24, 1959 she married her beloved husband Arnold Lee Dieringer in Huntington and he passed away June 7, 1996. She is survived by a son Daniel (Sharon) Dieringer of Fort Wayne, a sister Betsy Sands of Huntington, a brother Michael Fisher of Huntington, 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters-in-law Martha Fisher of Ashley and Sondra Fisher of Huntington. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Bill Fisher, Tom Fisher and James Fisher.
Visitation will be held Wednesday October 3 from 5-7 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel, and at Faith Community Church of God, Huntington, one hour prior to the 10:00 am funeral service Thursday, October 4. Pastor Micah Mobley will officiate. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
