Dr. Jean Ann Tribolet, age 87, longtime resident of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 7:35 am at Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne. She graduated from Roanoke High School (1952), earned her BS from Manchester University, née College (1956), MA from University of Colorado (1959), and PhD from Purdue University (1970). Post doctorate studies were done at Rutgers University in New Jersey and Alfred Adler Institute in Chicago. Jean Ann taught in the public school system for 25 years and served as director of guidance services in both Huntington and Whitley Counties. She was a psychology professor, former dean of women, and registrar at Manchester University.
Jean Ann was born May 11, 1934, in Huntington, a daughter of Claude D. and Gladys M. (Rupert) Tribolet. She is survived by her sister, Monie Harley (Roland Young), as well as a nephew and nieces and their families, plus countless others whom she claimed and created as a wide interconnected family.
Visitation will be held 2:00-3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 3, at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Deanna Brown will officiate. On behalf of the deceased, in order to include those needing event health measures, guests are asked to wear masks indoors. Some family and friends will initially gather outdoors for visitation.
