We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Roanoke Memorial Chapel
On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Juan Aponte-Arnz, loving son, grandson, uncle and brother left his earthly home to join the Lord just one month shy from his 23rd birthday. Juan was born on June 27, 1999, at Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan, a son of Stacey Foote and Renee Aponte. Juan came to live with his Aunt and Uncle when he was 5 years old, and was adopted shortly after. His family relocated from Michigan to Roanoke, Indiana in 2010. This is where he spent most of his life.
Juan was a 2017 graduate of Huntington North High School where he was a member of the Huntington North wrestling team and a proud Huntington North Viking. In fact, he would try to wrestle anyone and everyone to prove it. Although he took some time away from school after graduating, he had just been accepted at Ivy Tech College. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed participating in any sport event he could; from softball as a small child to basketball or soccer in his spare time outside of school. Juan was an animal lover and it showed with any animal he came in contact with. He was probably the goofiest kid you could know; kindhearted, energetic, always smiling and lived to make people laugh. To know him was to love him!
Juan is survived by his momma and step-dad Bronnie and John Connors (Roanoke), father Joseph Arnz (Huntington), biological mother Stacy Foote (Flint, MI), biological father Renee Aponte (Rochester, NY), brothers Gage Harris (Caro, MI), Joseph (Josaphine) Arnz (Huntington), Hunter Arnz (Huntington), Keegan Connors (Roanoke), Issac Harris (Brighton, MI), DiAndre Walker (Flint, MI), sisters Paige Harris (Brighton, MI), Breonaka and Alisha Walker (Flint, MI), grandmothers Janice Connors (New Carlisle) and Anna Parrett (Inkster, MI), and niece Willow Arnz (Huntington), along with too many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family to list. He was preceded in death by great-grandmother Eva Sult (who called Juan her boy), grandmothers Sally Fries and Yvonne Foote, grandfathers Helmut Arnz Sr., John Connors and Raymond Burnett, aunt Melissa Foote, uncles Helmut Arnz Jr. and Robert Connors, cousin Xavier Johnson and sister Leighahna Harris.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, at 2:00 pm at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. Calling will be for one hour before the service.
