Phyllis A. Myers, age 92, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 7:50 pm at Heritage Pointe, Warren. She was a 1946 graduate of Huntington High School, and worked in quality control at Wabash Technology from 1965-1993 and as a receptionist at H&R Block from 1998-2007. She was a member of Salamonie Church of the Brethren where she was president of Women’s Fellowship, served as president of Huntington Women’s Bowling Association, and held numerous officer positions in Lancaster Home Extension.
Phyllis was born September 6, 1928, in Huntington County, a daughter of Marland and Verna (Smith) Jay. On November 24, 1949 she married her beloved husband of 42 years Bill J. Myers in Huntington. He passed away October 11, 1992. She is survived by 3 sons Tom (Paula) Myers of Syracuse, Terry (Barb) Myers of Andrews and John (Kathy) Myers of Huntington, 2 brothers Robert (Jayne) Jay of Tipton and Gene (Doris) Jay of Marion, 4 grandchildren Michele Myers, Joseph Myers, Jeff Myers, Kelly Myers, and 3 great grandchildren Skylar Myers, Evelyn Myers and Karston Gard.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 19 from 10-11 am at Salamonie Church of the Brethren, 2662 W 600 S, Lancaster, preceding the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Gene Vickery officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery.
