Sally Jo Fries, age 74 of Roanoke and formerly of Reno, Nevada, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 1:59 am at home surrounded by her family. She began working in January 1993 as an auditor for Rail City, Reno, Nevada. She earned employee of the quarter in 2016 then went on to earn employee of the year that same year. Rail City employees became her second family over the years. She retired in July 2018 after 25 years of service. She loved westerns, especially John Wayne movies; was an avid reader, VC Andrews was her favorite author; was the biggest WWE wrestling fan ever, cheering on the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels; but found her greatest joy in life in spending time with her family.
Sally was born August 8, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest daughter of Lawrence William and Edna Ernasteen (Sisson) Elliott Sr. She is survived by 4 children Michael (Melinda) Elliott of Redford, Michigan, Bronnie (John) Connors of Roanoke, Larry Fries of Reno, Nevada, and Heidi (Luke) Senibaugh of Huntington; 11 grandchildren Abigale Elliott, Gage Harris, Keegan Connors, Hunter Arnz, Juan Aponte-Arnz, Joseph (Josaphine) Arnz, Faith Jones, Lillyann Senibaugh, Connor Willmott, William Senibaugh; 1 great-granddaughter Willow Lei Arnz; siblings Beatrice (Rick) Winters of Nevada, Ruth Nelson of Alaska, Cecelia Elliott of Nevada, Anthony (Virginia) Elliott of Nevada, Patrick (Janet) Elliott of Michigan, Charline (Charles) Pollitt of Michigan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first granddaughter Leighahna Harris, a brother Lawrence William Elliott Jr. and a sister Martha Thompson.
